So you're new to the irrigation industry or you have never had an opportunity to get your hands on any product, now is your chance. In this introductory course you will learn the basics of irrigation installation. Topics that will be covered: introduction to an irrigation system, product identification and terminology, basic design procedures, techniques in installation and set-up of newly installed systems.

Landscape Irrigation Design Process (Live Stream)
"How do you eat an elephant?: One bite at a time." Irrigation design can be an intimidating task, but it doesn't need to be. Explore the design process through a logical set of steps written to simplify irrigation design for beginners and experienced designers alike. The key to the popularity of this course is its hands-on approach; Participants are given opportunities to perform practical exercises in irrigation design using an in-class site plan. (Note: A Rain Bird product catalog is provided in class, but students may bring any manufacturer's catalog they wish to use)

Valve Troubleshooting (Live Stream)
This training module will present students with the operation of an irrigation valve and then the troubleshooting steps to repair a valve that has failed open, failed closed, or failed weeping. Participants should have at least one irrigation valve and the tools required to disassemble the valve (screw driver, nut driver, etc.…)

Electrical Troubleshooting (Live Stream)
This training module will present students with the proper techniques used to troubleshoot the electrical operation of a traditionally-wired irrigation controller including the incoming power supply, transformer operation, and station output. Participants should have a traditionally-wired irrigation controller, a power supply, and a multimeter capable of testing 0-200 VAC power.

Decoder Troubleshooting (Live Stream)
This training module will present students with the proper techniques used to troubleshoot the two-wire path of a decoder based control system. Troubleshooting steps will include diagnostics tools included in the Rain Bird ESP-LXD controller as well as using a milliamp clamp-meter for testing on the two-wire path. Optional – Students may want to have a Rain Bird ESP-LXD controller and a milliamp clamp-meter such as the Armada Technologies PRO95 that will be utilized in the class.
