Rain Bird Services
This class will introduce students to irrigation system hydraulics. Correct selection and sizing are critical for effective and efficient irrigation operation. Students will learn the major and internal components of valves, proper installation and operation, and the valve troubleshooting process for quick identification of common reasons for valve failure.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
  • Define static and dynamic pressure
  • Define friction loss
  • Define maximum velocity limits for irrigation systems
  • Calculate static pressure changes
  • Calculate dynamic pressure changes
Irrigation System Hydraulics Expert Introduction Training Module
This module will present students with an overview of the Irrigation System Hydraulics Expert course.
Static Pressure Training Module
This module will present students with present the conditions that impact static pressure.
Dynamic Pressure Training Module
Friction Loss Training Module
This module will present students with the concepts of friction loss and the methods to calculate the amount of pressure lost due to friction.
Velocity and Pipe Sizing Training Module
This module will present students with the process of pipe sizing based on maximum velocity limits.
Hydraulics Application Training Module
This module will present students with real-world applications for the hydraulics concepts covered in this course.
Note: When you register for the entire class a student manual for that course will automatically be shipped to you. Please allow seven business days for the manual to arrive. You may register for an individual module; however, you will not receive a student manual just for that module.
