Disclaimer for all Applicants
a. The undersigned understands that the Rain Bird Certification Program is voluntary and subject to a proctored examination and a hands-on (practical) examination. Participation in or completion of this process will not guarantee certification.
b. It is understood that the entire Application fee, Workshop fee, and Certification fee are non-refundable and non-transferable.
c. It is understood that Rain Bird International, Inc. – Services Division certifies individual irrigation professionals, and not the organization that the individual works for presently or in the future.
d. All advertising of the Rain Bird certification label must follow the requirements on the Rain Bird webpage? What is Rain Bird Certified? as described on the Rain Bird International, Inc. – Services Division website: http://www.rainbirdservicescorporation.com/training. Consistent with these requirements, you must not represent or imply that you are an employee of Rain Bird or that Rain Bird is responsible or liable for your services.
e. The undersigned agrees that Rain Bird, its officers, members, or other persons involved in the Rain Bird Certification Program shall not be held liable for the failure of any candidate to receive certification.
f. In order to be eligible to take the Rain Bird Certified - Residential and Light Commercial Irrigation Installer Certification Exam, Rain Bird International, Inc. – Services Division requires at least 1 year of irrigation industry experience and 24 classroom hours of education (Installation, Irrigation Maintenance and Troubleshooting, and Irrigation Design and/or Hydraulics) taken in the last 5 years. Candidates must also pass a pre-qualifying exam with a score of 70% or more.
g. Applicants will receive a pre-qualifying exam by email no later than 1 business day after paying the application fee. If this communication is not received, call Rain Bird International, Inc. – Services Division immediately: (800) 498-1942. The results of the pre-qualifying exam and the certification exam are confidential.
h. Applicants must submit their completed application form and pre-qualifying exam to Rain Bird International, Inc. – Services Division no later than 30 days prior to the first day of a scheduled Residential and Light Commercial Irrigation Installer Workshop.
i. It is understood that it may take up to two weeks for Rain Bird International, Inc. – Services Division to process an application and pre-qualifying exam. If the application is missing any required information this may delay the processing time.
j. The Rain Bird International, Inc. – Services Division Certification Program will provide written notification to those candidates not meeting the eligibility requirements or not passing the pre-qualifying exam. Registration application fees will not be refunded if a candidate is ineligible to join the Rain Bird Certification Program.
k. During the course workshop, the instructor can subject anyone to the pre-qualifying exam for any reason and if the person fails the pre-qualifying exam, this person would be disqualified from finishing the workshop, thus making them ineligible to become certified. The candidate will be asked to leave the class immediately with no refund.
l. Application for re-certification is required every 2 years. In order to qualify, the certified individual must document the fact that they have completed at least 8 hours of irrigation training. A second examination is not required for re-certification unless the applicant has allowed their certification to lapse beyond the expiration date noted on their certificate.
