This hardware training is designed to introduce and instruct the technician responsible for the maintenance, upkeep, troubleshooting and repair of the Maxicom Central Control irrigation system. Training is focused on each of the system’s hardware components followed with hands-on installation activities with the Central Controller, Weather Station, Site SAT, Cluster Control Unit, Satellite, and sensors. Additional topics include advanced communication protocols covering Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and Advanced Spread Spectrum modems as they integrate with the Maxicom Central Control system.
This software training is designed to introduce and instruct the end-user on the basic and advanced operation of the Maxicom²® Central Control system software. Emphasis is placed on three areas: 1) Database construction 2) Writing basic and advanced schedules 3) Daily operation and run time/flow log analysis of the irrigation cycle. This training is also designed for the Water Manager engaged in the business of irrigation system management and monitoring including discussions of soil, plant and water relationships and advanced ET based irrigation scheduling.

Residential Controller Technician
This course offers the irrigation contractor the solution to a water-efficient residential irrigation system control. Rain Bird’s residential and light commercial controller line contain the features necessary to efficiently irrigate a property with minimal ongoing changes, i.e. you spend less time on the customer’s property. This class will cover programming techniques of three different Rain Bird res/com controller products: ESP-TM2, ESP-Me, and LNK WiFi Stick. This class will also cover basic troubleshooting techniques for traditionally wired irrigation controllers.
Electrical Troubleshooting for Irrigation Systems
Students will be introduced to the basics of electricity and how it applies to irrigation systems. Multi-meters will be utilized in taking voltage and resistance measurements in class. Typical irrigation system electrical discrepancies will be presented with possible causes and solutions in addition to tracking buried wires and valves and isolating wire faults. ESP-LX (Series) Operator - Part 1
This training will teach students how to program and operate the Rain Bird ESP-LX Series of controllers using features such as Flow Manager™, Flow Watch™ and Simulstations™ as well as using diagnostic functions to troubleshoot system discrepancies.
This class will introduce students to decoder systems in general, design principles, and installation techniques. Additional emphasis is given to grounding techniques and using a simple decoder system setup for hands-on operation and troubleshooting common decoder system faults.
IQ v3.0 Cloud Operator
This training introduces the IQ v3.0 Cloud Central Control Software system software and its primary functions related to basic and advanced irrigation operation, monitoring, programming and reporting. Programming complexity is equal to that of a stand-alone irrigation controller program.
IQ v3.0 Cloud Technician
This training introduces and defines the role of the IQ™v3.0 system hardware components working with the IQ v3.0 Cloud operating platform. Hands on installation activities include communication between the IQ v3.0 Cloud and select IQ-NCC Network Communication Cartridges.

In-class activities will present each major component of the golf irrigation system, including operation and troubleshooting of each part. Irrigation system components covered will include pumps, valves, valve-in-head rotors, and weather stations. Golf Central Control Operator
Learn how to navigate through Rain Bird’s golf central control software (Cirrus™, Nimbus™ II, Stratus™ II, or Stratus™ LT). This hands-on class is ideal for any golf course irrigation professional working with a satellite control system. The class material will cover communication options for both 2-wire and LINK systems. Irrigation Designer Review
This course deals with topics of water management as it relates to the proper design of an irrigation system. Students will review required site information, irrigation system hydraulics, system component selection, sizing, and placement, electricity as it relates to irrigation design, and proper scheduling practices including soil properties. This class is designed to prepare students for the Irrigation Association Certified Irrigation Designer (CID) exams (step 2, 3, and 4 landscape/turf exam track), focusing on the key areas contractors typically struggle with when preparing for the CID exam.
